Trip to Kawaroa Rocky Shore
On Thursday Room 11 and the other Junior School classes travelled up to New Plymouth to visit the Kawaroa Rocky Shore. Some of us travelled by bus, and others went in cars. It was a very windy day but this didn't stop us from having great fun discovering all the life in the rock pools. We worked in groups and located lots of different sea plants and creatures. We found crabs, sea anenomes, cushion stars, neptunes necklace, flapjack, kina, limpets, chitons and barnacles. Once our time was up down at the rocky shore we refuelled with some lunch and headed into the Aquatic Centre for an afternoon of fun in the heated pool. There were big floating boards for us to lie on and the waves came on too. This was very exciting! All too soon our swim came to an end and it was time to head back to school. Miss Bruce and the other teachers have taken lots of photos of our 'big day out' and these will be added shortly.....watch this space! :)
